Isn’t love or more so BEING in love just such a silly thing? It’s a *glimpse of that thing that makes a girl punch a guy on the arm in middle school, it’s what makes a person act so silly and smile so big their jaw line gets a little toning! Haha. Isn’t it crazy that love or a tiny glimpse of it in a crush just requires a response of some sort? You almost feel like if you don’t do something about it you might explode?

If we mere humans can, in a minuscule way, feel this overwhelming desire to give of ourselves in a way that’s extremely hard to hold back- how much more does it cause us to stop and ponder on the Love of God? Hear me, I’m not trying to in any way water down God’s love or speak into the cliche we’ve sometimes made it out to be, but I’ve been in that place in my life when it’s been hard to FEEL or sense God’s love and it’s one of the scariest places to be. There’s no sense of security and an overwhelming sense that everything is up to you. So being in this place, today- where I can, In such a tangible way, KNOW God’s love I can’t help but wonder…

Perhaps in the same way that God poured out His Son, out of His love for me, is what causes me, when I CHOOSE to receive God’s love, to forgive more quickly, love others more deeply, and receive His grace more openly when I think I’ve really screw things up. Man, I hope you (yes you who is reading this) are in a place where you are allowing God’s love to permeate the depths of your heart…but maybe you’re not there today, and you’re in that scary place I’ve been before…I pray that you would press in, press into God’s love, ask Him to show you how He’s loving you right now. There’s no sin so great that He would leave you, or a back story too complicated for Him give up on you.

I imagine this- a first time mother staring at, just delighting in her newborn as he naps. With nowhere more important to be, or a task more precious to tend to. God loves you SO incredibly much. I couldn’t possibly have the words to describe to you how much. But BEING in God’s love is the safest, most restful place you could ever be, And just like that middle school crush that compelled you to DO something, God can’t help but show you. He is doing something new…do you not perceive it? 😊😊😊
